About Body Longevity
Relieving chronic pain and restoring normal movementHelping you get back to life!
Hi, I’m Rhonda Collins. Since completing my corrective exercise and biomechanics training, I have specialised in helping people with chronic pain, clients who have had back and joint surgeries, and working closely with medical specialists. Often the culprit of someone’s pain is not what they think. I enjoy unpeeling the layers of my client’s story to uncover that an old injury, lifestyle, or work postures have contributed to a subtle decline in functioning over time.
The Body Longevity Story
After being in the health and fitness industry for decades, my husband insisted I stop wasting money on attending courses I had the knowledge and experience to run myself. Then one night when I came home from work he said, there is a course I think you should definitely do. I enrolled in the biomechanics method and it was a game changer for me. It opened a new world of how the body is intrinsically linked and how a previous broken toe maybe causing hip and back pain. I was hooked, and my clients are constantly surprised when I treat an area that they thought was insignificant to their pain and they walk out feeling instant relief. This gives me so much satisfaction especially when my client has pursued various other treatments and I am the end of the line for them.
Biomechanics assessments, corrective exercise and myofascial release is a marriage made in heaven as it uses my training in anatomy and physiology together with my in depth knowledge of exercise prescription to tailor a treatment program that will improve functionality. This with gentle hands on therapy will restore muscle balance and promote a sense of well being reducing the need for pain relief. Pain relief is like the light that comes on the dashboard of your car. Do you stop the car and find out what the trouble with it is, or do you continue driving it into the ground?
Core Values & Beliefs
Pain Relief
Pain relief masks the true culprit and hinders improvement in performance.
Empathy and understanding
Clients should be helped to understand what is happening and be part of the solution to pain relief.
Enhanced performance
An informed client who can see improvement in performance is one that can again get excited about their life.
Small changes for big improvements
By performing small homework exercises specific to your condition, you can dramatically move better and improve your quality of life.
Sense of purpose
People in pain are not my income they are the reason I get out of bed every morning.
The Body Longevity Approach
Long term pain becomes as much a psychological problem as a physical one, because the client is frustrated not knowing what is causing their pain and having no idea when and why it will reoccur. They become guarded in their movement not realising that moving less or having the wrong treatment plan will contribute to a life of chronic pain and regular use of pain medications.
Your specialist is trained specifically to know how to regress, progress and create alternatives for any exercise. This means that the exercise portion of your program can be tailored to your particular ability level at each stage, thereby producing outstanding program results.
Our goal is to helping the client understand the reasons for their pain and give them the tools to help them help themselves.
